Carrie Gerard is a soon to be Registered Dietitian and has always been passionate about all things food. Originally from sunny Florida, she graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Nutrition and Geography. Throughout college she spent her free time gardening in her backyard or volunteering at the local organic farm. Her passion for integrating gardening and nutrition landed her in Northern California working at a community and school garden project. She loved teaching k-12 grade kids about the source of their food and how to integrate garden produce into tasty and simple meals. She also loved exploring the ocean and the redwoods. After 3 years, her desire to delve deeper into the professional world of nutrition brought her to the University of Massachusetts where she is completing her dietetic internship. When not reading about nutrition and health, you’ll find her on her bike, playing the piano or making pickles.
