Welcome to Mediterranean Living with Bill Bradley, R.D.

As a Registered Dietitian,  I have promoted the Mediterranean way of eating and living for the past 10 years.  I give talks and cooking workshops, write cookbooks, and import olive oil from the island of Crete.  Now I have created this website!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself:

By American standards I am overweight.

By Mediterranean standards I am Bill Bradley, a great cook, a community builder, and a funny, creative guy.

By American standards I should be counting my calories.

By Mediterranean standards I eat food that I love, that makes me feel great.

By American standards I should be joining a gym.

By Mediterranean standards I go swimming in lakes, take walks in the woods, and ride my bike to work.

By American standards I should be eating rice cakes, Weight Watchers frozen dinners, and Skinny Cows.  I should be drinking diet coke and gatorade.

By Mediterranean standards I eat food cooked with lots of olive oil, local vegetables, and fresh herbs.  I drink wine, coffee, and tea.

By American standards I should not like myself very much as I am not the ideal.

By Mediterranean standards I am fine just the way I am.  I like you just the way you are too.

Here are a few insights:

I believe that the traditional ways of the Mediterranean provide many of the answers that can help us return to sanity with both food and life.

I don’t have all the answers, but I love to search for them.

I know there are many ways that work.  I will never tell you that my way is the only way.  I am only offering something that has been pleasing and life-changing for me.  I want to share that.

The goals of this blog are to introduce you to my perfectly imperfect life; give you tips on the Mediterranean Diet and Lifestyle as I continually learn about them; and help to create a worldwide community of support and education.

This is about new ways of living and eating based on very old ways of living and eating.  It is about returning to our basic selves and not letting the world around us tell us we are anything less than amazing.

Over the next few months, the team here at Mediterraneanliving.com will offer you many ways to become a part of our worldwide community.  For now, you can subscribe to our e-mail/newsletter list for delicious recipes, tips on eating and living Mediterranean, and information on Mediterranean events around the country.

As with anything, this is a journey.  We invite you along for the adventure.

“This program is a way of life, one which I have adopted successfully, and more importantly one which I have sustained for over one year now. My weight remains steady at 160 pounds (down from 216). My energy levels rival that of someone 20 years younger than me (I’m now 57), enabling me to exercise in any way that I desire, from lifting weights to intense cardio sessions.”
— Michael Little

“After completing my 10-week program, I had a regularly-scheduled appointment with my doctor. Because my cholesterol has always been above the normal range (229 last year) I requested that she test it again this year. I’m happy to report that my total cholesterol dropped to 169, which is in the normal range, and all my other numbers improved as well.”

Foods of Crete Cookbook

"The scientifically acclaimed “Mediterranean Diet” is presented at its best here, with the liberal use of olive oil and plenty of vegetable and fish dishes in addition to mezedes (appetizers), meat dishes, desserts, and pretty much every Cretan dish you can think of." - Mary

I was interested in the 10 week challenge but I cannot locate a contact link anywhere on the page. Is it $99 USD or CDN. Please confirm. Thank you.

      Hope that helps.
